Catching up

So it's been a long time since my last post and a lot has happened.
- David and I went on a marriage retreat to Hilton head island at the end of October it was beautiful and much needed. Ill post a separate post with the details and pictures.
- David deployed to Afghanistan on November 8th and I drove up to North Carolina that same night.
- living with my mom while he is deployed I've mostly been tryin to get the nursery squares away before Greyson comes.
- painted the nursery trim and ceiling an closet and got the crib and changing table/dresser moved in. Ordered the glider from babies r us. Horrible experience still waiting for them to get it in stock and then I'm driving to Greenville to pick it up at the store. But once I have that the nursery will look pretty awesome. Wanna put in a ceiling light and dimmer switch but ill put more pictures and details on the little jelly bean's blog.
- mostly tryin to get the rest of the house decent now that I'm not totally stressing about the nursery.

That's about the gist of it. Ill post some more posts to catch up on the holidays an a few sewing things I've done that I wanna brag about lol.

Jack-O-Lanterns

So I wasn't sure if my husband would even want to do pumpkin carving...silly me. I told him I wanted to grab two pumpkins, while we were at the store, to carve for Family Home Evening. It was like James Bond's ultimate mission lol. I wish I had had my camera because he seriously took half the pumpkins out of the bin to get down to the very bottom for his perfect pumpkin lol I just jest too much because I got mine there too lol. the root of the problem was all the stems were broken and you need a good stem its mandatory. Anywho, we had FHE but he had to run to the store for work stuff so we had to put a pin in the pumpkins so to speak. So that weekend we went at it. I usually got for a more creative pattern usually from my brain but my excuse this year is I'm pregnant lol. David's is a hoot. So here are some pictures with random comments every now and then lol.

The lovely before shot. lol Take note of the gorgeous flowers my husband got me. I love that man!

He loves that K-bar!

So we cut from the bottom. first time ever doing this but the little book said to do it and it made sense. David made a tiny hole...

I made a huge one lol.

Just a few action shots of the fun stuff lol

I wanted to have a pumpkin fight....

He did not lol

the beginnings of my master piece

David's guy with the eyes. At this point David realized in order to complete his master piece we needed to run to the store for a third victim (tiny pumpkin). It was funny because when we got there all the big bins were empty and we had to go for a pie pumpkin. lol

David making the mouth to hold the poor little dude

My finished product

David shaving the rind off the teeth... said he felt like he was brushing his teeth lol

We might have a slight pumpkin aggression problem... but who could blame us. This was a very fun night!

Update on the Pain and the Baby

So the pain is apparently normal stomach pain from being pregnant. Mostly just GI issues. The baby is great but he will be better when the mama (yours truly) is no longer hurting. Oh also the ultrasound in September showed an irregular heart beat so they sent me to Savannah. They checked his heart there and said its beautiful and there is no arrhythmia. They are concerned because he is smaller than most babies his age so I'm actually going back next week to get another ultrasound and make sure he is at least growing at a steady rate.

Overview of last 30 days

So I have been remiss in my blogging lately :(  We went on leave for two weeks to North Carolina. Had an amazing time with family and friends. Actually got a new car! I love our car David was amazing getting us the deal he did. I am so proud of my husband. Went fishing and David went flounder gigging. I couldn't hang that late (12am-2am). but I ate the flounder and that was yummy lol. Went shopping with mama. She is keeping me stylish even as big as I am lol. Went the Busch Gardens now that was fun. We got home and I found out I was released from my calling as Young Women's President at church. I'm gonna miss working with those girls but I know they're gonna have a great time with their new leaders. Bought Pumpkins for FHE activity but didnt get to carve them until friday lol. Went to Savannah and took a ton of pictures. Trying to cram in as many fun memories with my hubby as I can before he leaves. Okie Dokes that's about everything So now for the individual posts lol.

My Painful Weekend

This weekend has been kinda crazy. Friday I got horrible belly pains and after having them for 2 hours asked my hubby to take me to the hospital. Because I'm almost 20 weeks pregnant they sent me up to labor and delivery (one plus: I have graduated from the 9 hour ER waiting room) they stuck me in a room in labor and delivery and hooked a sensor up to me to tell if what I was feeling was contractions because my description sounded like it. then they ran some tests, and after an hour of waiting in a freezing room (hubby was freezing I just wanted socks) :) the midwife came in and said it was common pregnancy discomfort and that my uterus was just adjusting and figuring out what it needed to do. I always feel silly going to the hospital and being sent home with order to take 2 Tylenol lol. But better safe than sorry. False labor is a serious thing and I really want my little one to have all the health in the world. So if I must I sacrifice my pride and look like the paranoid hypochondriac that progesterone has made me into lol. Saturday was good we stayed in the whole day but I like those days especially after Friday lol. Now its Sunday and the pains came back but now that I know what they are its a lot easier to deal with them. Wish the new mama luck and peace of mind. ttyl.

Our New Blog

So last night I got the blog bug again and guess what?..... I gave in. *audience rolls their eyes* yes I know captain obvious am I. Anyway just wanted to christen the ship so to speak, break the ice or what have you and get a post out there. So mostly just happy to be married to a wonderful man, and share every day together growing in love. But as of late... super excited about our biggest news.... We are having a baby!!! I know they say you don't go into the nesting phase until the last trimester but wow I think I've been nesting for years now lol. I am aching to craft and deco like crazy tho so I'm dying to make a nursery (which has to wait because we won't be in this house much longer). My husband will most likely be deploying in the fall and if that turns out to be the case I'll be going home to my beloved North Carolina to have our baby. Either way though I'm still stocking up on deco ideas. so you can mostly expect lots of crafting posts and baby posts with a few posts about hubby and everyday life of course (for variety's sake). Well I guess that's it for now.
